Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency Animal Care Services
Honors Veterans, Military Personnel and Their Families on November 12, 2014
On Wednesday November 12, Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency, Animal Care Services will honor veterans, military personnel and their families by assisting them in adding an animal companion to their lives.
On this day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. families may visit the Ukiah Shelter located at 298 Plant Road in Ukiah and pick any dog/puppy or cat/kitten of their choice and decide on the adoption fee they are able to pay.
It has long been recognized that animal companions have a significant impact in alleviating stress during challenging times in our lives. A soft cat to cuddle and stroke and a dog’s ear to whisper words of grief, loss and confusion can make all the difference. The staff and volunteers at the Ukiah Shelter will work with veterans and military personnel and their family to pick just the right pet to add to their lives.
The adopter will need to pay the $25 dog license fee but the remaining cost for adoption will be decided by the adopter.
For more information please call 463-4654.
