Sanhedrin Fire Information
UPPERLAKE, Calif. – The Sanhedrin fire is holding at approximately 25 acres and is estimated to be 80 percent contained.

The fire, reported Friday night around 7:30 p.m., is burning on private land within the Mendocino National Forest south of Little Signal Peak and east of the Sanhedrin Wilderness on the Upper Lake Ranger District.  The cause is under investigation.

The fire is burning in heavy fuels, including dead and down trees, in an area burned in 2008.

Smoke from the fire is visible along Highway 101 and to communities on the west side of the forest.

Firefighters have made great progress towards containment and it is expected resources will start to be released from the incident tomorrow.
